Thanks to our cofounder, Eddy Yang, we were able to team up with 20 amazing students from the Worcester Academy for our first Boston Recovery Foundation outreach event on the streets of Worcester, the second-largest city in Massachusetts. It was a remarkable success. We packed enough food and clothing to serve 125 people, and they were all gone in just two hours!
The food and clothes were a huge hit with the people we met, but the real magic happened when we had meaningful conversations, shared laughs, hugs, and listened to each other’s stories with respect, dignity, and compassion, both joyful and sorrowful. It was a truly transformative experience for everyone involved.
Seeing the young students from the Worcester Academy so engaged and eager to serve people in need, with smiles and endless compassion, was truly inspiring. They are indeed beacons of kindness displaying the best side of humanity. We can’t wait to return to Worcester and bring hope, healing, and whatever resources people need to start their recovery journey. And a sincere appreciation for Worcester Academy Coach Jamie Sullivan for providing guidance and support to make this event possible.
