We enjoyed a fantastic day on the streets of Boston, and we’re thankful for our incredible volunteers, who are the heart of this mission. Henry, Justin, Matty, and Davy prepared over 100 sandwiches before 10 AM. A special thanks to our great friend Ed, whose truck made this event possible. It's always inspiring to witness the interaction between our volunteers and those we serve, remembering each other’s names and sharing stories of sorrow and healing. Although we distribute food and clothing to around 100 people every Sunday, the true magic lies not in the items we give out, but in the human connections formed during the process. We have been able to encourage and refer people to treatment programs such as detox and medical care, as well as assist with housing issues.

Today, we were honored to meet Elaine and her team, Adele and Denise, from the Backpack Project. Following the heartbreaking loss of her son Michael to addiction, Elaine channeled her grief into a mission of hope, love, and awareness. The Backpack Project team puts together backpacks filled with almost everything a person experiencing homelessness might need. These backpacks are distributed to those most in need on Mass Ave. They are extraordinary people spreading warmth and hope.
