Every Sunday, The Boston Recovery Foundation serves over one hundred people. While we distribute clothing, food, and other items, the greatest gift the volunteers bring to those suffering on the streets is the human connection, the human conversation, and the dignity they offer. It’s evident to us that people have a genuine desire to share their stories, both heartbreaking and heartwarming, and to be heard with compassion and without judgment.

Our team is a beacon of love and hope, genuinely interested in knowing , “How are you?” every time they greet someone.

While we’ve gotten to know many of the people on Mass Ave, we’re unfortunately seeing many new faces. Often, they’re people who have recently relapsed. Whenever possible, we encourage and help them to get back to treatment by facilitating access to programs. Every single person we meet is someone’s beloved child who deserves to be healthy, happy, and free. And we will continue to do our part.
